Measure wrist circumference?
This way you can immediately wear your watch to size
Ordering a new watch is fun. A watch that fits perfectly upon arrival is even more fun. Especially with a watch with a steel bracelet, you want to avoid having to remove links first. By correctly measuring your wrist circumference beforehand, we at Juwelier Van de Heyning can adjust your watch before shipping. Result: unpack it, put it on, and you're all set. Up and running.
Why entering your wrist size when ordering is worthwhile
Watches with a metal strap are supplied in the maximum length by default. Not every wrist is the same, and a strap that's too loose is uncomfortable and looks sloppy. If you provide your correct wrist size in our webshop, we'll ensure your watch is adjusted in our workshop. This applies to men's watches ,women's watches , and unisex models, from sporty to dress watches .
Step 1: Determine where your watch will be worn
A watch should be worn just behind the wrist bone, not on the hand or too high on the arm. This is precisely the spot where you should measure. This prevents the strap from being adjusted too tight or too loose.
Step 2: Measure your wrist with a tape measure (most accurate)
Preferably use a flexible measuring tape, such as a tailor's tape. Wrap the tape around your wrist where your watch will sit. Don't pull the tape tight; make sure it fits comfortably. Read the circumference in centimeters . Enter this number as your wrist size in our webshop.
Step 3: No measuring tape? Use a piece of string or paper.
If you don't have a tape measure at home, a piece of string or a narrow strip of paper works perfectly. Wrap it around your wrist, mark where it overlaps, and then measure it with a ruler. Here too, don't tighten it; let it fit naturally.

Step 4: Comfort vs. Tight Wear
Are you unsure between two sizes? Think about how you like to wear your watch. If you prefer a slightly looser fit, you can round up or measure the circumference so your pinky finger also fits. If you prefer a snug and stable fit, rounding down is often better, but always make sure to leave some wiggle room. We always take this into account when adjusting the strap; we add 0.5 cm to your specified size for comfort.
What we do with your wrist size
When you enter your wrist size when ordering, our watchmakers will professionally adjust the steel bracelet before shipping or collection. This avoids waiting time and extra travel. This is especially helpful with popular collections like our automatic and quartz watches , which are often chosen with metal bracelets for everyday wear.
Still not perfect? No stress
If your watch needs a minor adjustment upon arrival, we can always make it happen in our store. But in most cases, it's perfectly fine the first time, just as it should be with a jeweler who thinks along with you.
It's that simple. One minute of measuring, and your watch is ready to wear . That's service as it should be.
