Pearl Necklaces and Bracelets

Collection: Pearls

At Juwelier Van de Heyning we mainly work with high-quality freshwater pearls, which offer an excellent price-quality ratio. These pearls are available in various shapes and colours, such as round, semi-round, oval and irregular. Colours vary from classic white to rose, pink-orange and deep purple natural colours. Each string is carefully put together and knotted in our own workshop. For the clasps we mainly use rhodium-plated silver 925, but white and yellow gold clasps are also possible. Each piece of jewellery can be customised to your specific wishes.

The value of pearls is determined by their color and shape. In general, larger pearls have a higher price. Luster and surface purity also play a role in the value. Color choice is also very personal and depends on the type of pearl you are looking for.

Pearls are of organic origin, which means they are softer than metals and gemstones. Therefore, they deserve special attention and care:

Some tips to keep pearls beautiful for a long time:

- Store pearls in a soft, breathable cloth or box (avoid plastic).

- Avoid direct contact with other metals or jewelry to reduce friction and damage.

- Protect pearls from corrosive products such as cosmetics, hairspray and perfume.

- Do not immerse a string of pearls in water as this can weaken the thread.

- Wear your pearls regularly; the skin's natural oils help maintain their shine.

- For a matte pearl, you can use a drop of almond oil to refresh the shine.

- It is recommended to have a pearl necklace or bracelet re-knotted or re-strung every 2 years, and more often with intensive use.
